The 6th edition of SIM Senegal took place at the Hotel King Fahd Palace in Dakar on 02 – 04 November 2021, which was organised by the Senegalese Ministry of Mines & Geology in association with AME Trade Ltd. SIM Senegal attracted a unique and diverse range of mining investors in finance, services, exploration & production and institutional industries, representing both public and private sectors from 30 countries. The event is once again supported by the Senegalese government, guaranteeing the highest level audience possible. SIM Senegal 2021 was able to gather over 900 attendees from 35 countries and featuring 80 exhibition stands as well as 22 sponsors. These numbers displays the importance of this event and its impact on the West African mining sector.

SIM Senegal is a bi-annual mining event. The event has established itself as one of the largest mining events in West Africa and is the only event supported by the Senegalese government dedicated to expanding the country’s mining sector. Sim Senegal 2021 was officially inaugurated by H.E. the President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr. Macky SALL and by the Honourable Minister of Mines and Geology of Senegal, Dr. Oumar Sarr.
The programme of SIM Senegal 2021 focused on local content and local development for the socio economic growth in country, the transformation of resource wealth through sustainable approaches to mining projects, changes to frameworks, the country’s potential, technology, training, environmental considerations, transport, finance and energy.
